Ginger Milne received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Wake Forest University. She then attended Duke University where she joined the laboratory of Professor Ned Porter and began her journey studying mechanisms of lipid peroxidation. During her tenure in the Porter Lab, she relocated with the group to Vanderbilt University where she received her Ph.D. in Chemistry. After completion of her degree, Dr. Milne moved across campus to the Division of Clinical Pharmacology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the laboratory of Professor Jason Morrow.  During this time, she studied the metabolism of A-ring isoprostanes derived from the peroxidation of arachidonic acid. Dr. Milne joined the faculty in the Division of Clinical Pharmacology in 2005 and was recently promoted to the rank of Professor on the Research Track. Dr. Milne is also the Scientific and Operating Director of the Eicosanoid and Neurochemistry Core laboratories.  She works with investigators from all over the world and has more than 230 peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Milne’s research focus is on the utility of eicosanoid metabolites as biomarkers in health and human disease with a special emphasis on the identification and characterization of novel oxylipin metabolites.
